Cave Glacier Vartop (Margau)
It lies between the Pit Larga and Poiana Vartop. It is an impressive karst phenomenon with an almost vertical inlet 40x30m. The cave is about 200 m long and 80 m bump and houses a permanent glacier with a thickness of 30 m.
It can only be visited by tourists to the glacier surface; descent to the base of its being able to do just using ropes and alpine caving technique.
From March to May in the entrance hall arise ice formations (stalactites, stalagmites, columns) spectaculars.
Izbucul Humpleu
It is where the cave underground river of the same name coming up from the bottom of the mountain. It is located on the right side (geographically) Firei Valley, about 200m downstream of Sura Mica Cave.
In times of flood activates another four levels ranging too- full of Cave Sura Mica and Izbucul Humpleu.
Humpleu Cave (Cave from Valley Firei )
It is located in Massive Vlădeasa from surface Margau commune in Cluj County.
The entrance is located at the base of the hill Humpleului, Firei Valley. It ranks among the top 5 big longest caves in the country, with galleries totaling over 40 km long. What makes known worldwide, are its galleries, size downright impressive
It is said that here is the largest underground hall in the country (in some sources is considered the second room size in Europe and fourth in the world).
Great Cave from Valley Firei
It is located in the upper basin of the Warm Somes, between Valley Yarns, Ponor Valley and is the second longest in the country; discovered around the year 1984; has a complex structure, containing most of the existing karst phenomena.
The most important rooms are: Entrance Hall, Meeting Ondine, ballroom, Pocket Hall, Meeting Suspended Hall Club, Meeting Dan Coman, Meeting Wonderland Halas Hall Gabor, Charonte halls, halls Grenoble, halls “A”, Meeting bivouac Hall High, Meeting giant pagodas Room, Room “89” Helictitelor room, hall windows, Meeting Final, Amphitheatre Hall Bingo Hall and most popular galleries: Gallery main activities tributary Gallery Gallery operate furnaces; 4 of this cave rooms are the largest in Romania.
Altar Stone Cave (grade A – scientific reserve)
It was discovered in 1984 by cavers Daniel Carlugea and Doru Croitoru.
It is developed on 4 levels, one active, semiactive one and two fossils
The characteristic of this cave is the richness and variety of calcite speleothems.
Palace Hall and Paradise Gallery are probably the most beautiful sectors caves concretions in Europe.
Cave Ponor from Valley Ponorului
has over 1.5 km long and 30m bump and has a portion of about 250m of galleries that can be viewed without special equipment. It is recommended for more experienced tourists after the logs from the entrance there is an area of approximately 40m crawling.
The cave has two entrances on both sides of the valley Ponor is remarkable about 20m in the air during active thalweg Ponor Valley.
Cave Varfurasul
also called ‘Cave Banks’ and is in the Valley Stanciului basin at an altitude of 1.236m.
Access to the cave is in the village of Rachitele, forest road Stanciului Valley, or Vladeasa refuge on the blue dot marking. The cave is over 2km long, is not open to visitors and is in custody Amateur Caving Club of Cluj-Napoca.
In the cave you can admire stalagmites, stalactites, formations mondmilch (milk month) and parietal leaks
